When buying a property in Queensland, the state government requires you to pay a tax on the transaction, known as transfer duty (previously called stamp duty). As part of our standard conveyancing service, we will calculate how much duty you need to pay and when. We’ll also work out if you are entitled to any transfer duty concessions, such as the first home or the home owner concession. We’ll attend to lodgment and payment of transfer duty on your behalf with the state government on or before settlement, so it’s one less thing for you to worry about.
